We don’t have much daylight at the moment.
This week is the darkest week of the year, the 21st of December is the darkest DAY of the year.
On the darkest day the sun rises at 10.10AM here in Auktsjaur and sets at 1.10PM. Yepp, not a lot of daylight. This might sound bad… BUT at least we are not in Kiruna 😀
Kiruna is a town high up in Sweden and they have the polar nights. Like as in NO sun. Everything above the Arctic Circle will experience polar nights, we are right underneath it. So YEAH us!
Kiruna actually has 28 days without the sun rising above the horizon. 28! Twenty-eight!! Can you imagine seeing the sun set in November and knowing it wont rise until January?
They do have twilight though. So it is not DARK dark. Just a little dark 🙂
Anyway, we went snowmobiling last Sunday. The sun rose right in front of us. 🍃🍃
