Northern Lights & snow & the moon.

Quick post today. Was about to walk home with my dogs…

Then I changed my mind and ran back inside (the Lodge) and got my camera (and left some stunned & annoyed looking doggies ๐Ÿ˜€ ).

The northern Lights are out and the moon is stunning this evening. We haven’t had a clear night like this in ages! It’s been snowing lots and lots, which is good but it was so nice to see the stars again. I can get lost in these stars.

Anyways, when we say that the snow illuminates everything… it’s hard to describe what that looks like. On our darkest days we have about 2,5-3 hours of daylight. You might say that that sounds very dark but… the snow illuminates everything! Especially when the moon is out like tonight. Can you see the clear shadows of the trees on the frozen lake? That is moonlight. Moonlight illuminating the snow.

Get it now? ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒ

Oh ya, you can see my cabin on the first picture… I forgot to turn the lights off.

  1. Beautiful! I hope to see the northern lights someday. It’s on my bucket list ๐Ÿ™‚ I trust you have a fire going in that cabin. ๐Ÿ˜‰
